Trevor Slattery, also known as Mandarin, is a fictional character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is played by Ben Kingsley.

Slattery is a washed up English actor, who is also a drug user. He was hired by A.I.M. to act as the Mandarin, leader and public face of the terrorist organization, the Ten Rings.[1] He was eventually caught by Tony Stark[1] and sent to Seagate Penitentiary.[2] There, he was somewhat of a celebrity, who brought the attention of documentary filmmaker, Jackson Norriss. In reality, he was an agent of the real Mandarin, who sent Norriss to break out the ignorant Slattery, who had no idea that there was ever a real Mandarin.[2]

He had roles in plays in Tempest then the main role of King Leary, which made him the toast of Croydon. He moved to the United States to star in the pilot for Caged Heat about a KGB cop for CBS, but it failed miserably. In 1986, his mother died, while he was still in the States.
