Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, is a fictional character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is played by Chris Pratt. In the What If...? version, he is voiced by Brian T. Delaney.
Quill was abducted when he was young by the Yondu Udonta's Ravagers, almost immediately after the passing of his mother. He was originally meant to be sent to his father, Ego, but Yondu kept him around and forced him to work for the Ravagers. In reality, this was actually to protect him from what Ego had in store. Yondu ended becoming a father figure to Quill, even though the latter resented him for it, until Yondu gave his life for Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
In adulthood, Quill gave himself the moniker of Star-Lord, breaking away from the Ravagers. Instead, he forged an uneasy alliance with Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, becoming their leader and something of a family together.
