Physical and personality traits[]
Biography[]
Poindexter was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. After his parents had died when he was young, he was sent to live at The Lyndhurst Home for Boys. He had developed a bond with Coach Bradley, who one day, had given him a new baseball mitt to try out with the other boys. While on the field, Poindexter was on a winning streak, but was eventually cut off by Bradley, so the other kids could have a turn, which upset and then angered Poindexter so much, that he threw the ball at a random wall which ricocheted off and knocked Bradley down dead. Although believed to be an accident, Poindexter was assigned therapy sessions at the Riviera Psychiatric Institute, with Dr. Eileen Mercer.
Dr. Mercer grew to understand Poindexter, and he grew accustomed and dependent on her into his teen years, when she developed cancer and ultimately death. Before her death, she taught him to life by a structured pattern to keep a peaceful and clear mind.
He joined the United States Army, and then the Brooklyn Suicide Prevention Center. There, he fell in love with one of his co-workers, Julie Barnes. Although he acted helpful to callers in front of Julie, his real advice to one of them was to use the gun to kill their stepfather.
